Lake Dexter is one of the chain of lakes that make up the St. Johns River, and is south of Astor and along the edge of the Alexander Springs Wilderness. A boat ramp at a campground and marina at Astor Landing, across from Bluffton, provides easy access to Lake Dexter, which lies immediately to the south.

This is a private campground and marina with boat slips, restrooms, picnic area, fishing pier, and pontoon boat rentals. For more information, please call 352-759-2121.


Directions:

From CR 445-A in Astor heading towards Alexander Springs, turn left onto Alco Road. Follow it for 4 miles to where it ends at a marina along the St. Johns River.

From the water, the landing is located at Channel Marker 8, about 3 miles south of the Astor Bridge and just north of Lake Dexter.
